Applications of Oxevision

Oxevision provides clinical teams with insights that can help them to intervene proactively and to plan care, so that they can deliver safer, higher quality and more efficient care.

Our partners have reported making a step change in many care outcomes.
Here are the most common:

Clinicians often need to monitor a patient’s physical health and identify deterioration early on. This can be challenging, particularly when it is not appropriate to place contact devices on patients for safety reasons or because clinicians are mobilising the individual.

Oxevision Vital Signs gives staff the ability to measure a patient’s cardio-respiratory vital signs, without disturbing them by entering their room. Clinicians can monitor vital signs over time to detect possible signs of deterioration with no device attached to the patient.

Oxevision is designed to support existing clinical practice. It does not on its own guarantee patient safety or any improvement in clinical outcome.

“We had a patient who had Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and he refused to have his physical observations taken every day. We used Oxevision to take spot checks of his breathing and heart rate without disturbing him.”

“We can check Frank’s pulse and breathing rate as often as we like without disturbing him, and get alerts if he spends more than 5 minutes in his bathroom. We can check that Frank is safe and healthy throughout the night, without putting him on close observations, and be reassured that we can quickly respond to any signs of a seizure we notice.”

“I think in mental health hospitals, we’re not always as good at monitoring physical health as we could be. With Oxevision, we can get vital signs data without having to touch the patient, especially when we’re concerned for their physical health. It improves our physical health monitoring for patients.”
