I spend part of my time investigating new ideas for improving our algorithms, implementing those ideas and testing them. I also contribute to our strategy for developing the technology systems, assist others with maintaining our existing systems and support colleagues with answers on technical issues.
I wanted to work somewhere that was innovative, fun and meaningful. I feel that researching and creating technology that improves lives is a good way to spend my time.
We have the opportunity to work at the forefront of engineering technology and use it to improve the outcomes for patients and staff. If I have a good idea, in 6 months time it could be making the system better for our customers. I enjoy making things better, and we make progress all the time.
It’s hard to select the top one, but it was probably delivering the ability for our customers to see the vital-sign trends for their patients. It was during the covid-19 pandemic and we wanted to deliver a way for staff to be able to check on the longer-term history of vital signs, rather than just taking single measurements. We developed it swiftly, navigating all of the necessary precautions to ensure that it was safe and effective, and put it in the hands of customers as soon as we could.
I’ve been to Glastonbury four times.
