Benefits

Oxevision gives teams the clinical insights they require to intervene proactively and to plan care so that they deliver safer, higher quality and more efficient care. Inpatient and residential care providers realise an immediate step change and continuous improvement in care by deploying the Oxehealth Service, which includes Oxevision.

Clinicians use our service to make a step change in many care outcomes. Here are the most common:

How Oxevision helps with Falls

Conventional technology solutions detect when a fall has occurred and so try to direct staff to a fallen person.  But this reaction is too late.

Oxevision identifies the early warning signs associated with a potential fall, such as getting out of bed at night, and alerts staff to attend a patient in time, before they have fallen, preventing the harm from occurring.

Up to 85% of falls in bedrooms are unwitnessed. This can result in additional care that is intrusive for patients and takes time for staff to perform. Oxevision enables staff to “replay” a fall: by observing exactly what happened, clinicians can confidently select the right care response.

“Previously we were relying on checking patients every 15 minutes and listening out. Now we’ve got an extra alert system there for us…We’ve had a lot fewer falls. It’s helped to reduce that risk as we’re able to get to the patient quicker.”
Susan Jackson
Healthcare Assistant, Pembleton female ward, Manor Hospital, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust
“I like the alerts when a patient is on the edge or at risk of falling. Staff are able to attend and prevent a fall from happening.”
Sandra Nyamariwata
Nurse, Pembleton female ward, Manor Hospital, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust
“The severity of falls and associated injuries have reduced massively at night: I think it’s because we can intervene earlier. For example, we can attend to patients within seconds if they are disorientated or confused so they don’t slip and fall.”
Linda Fitzpatrick
Ward Manager, Stanley female ward, Manor Hospital, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.
“Two of the ladies, in particular, who we’re looking after at the moment have got a long history of falling, so therefore it’s a great risk to the ward and obviously to themselves. Having the [OxeVision] in their rooms has been extremely beneficial; they’re so fragile, if they move just slightly, they’re at risk of falling.”
Rachel Stinton
Nurse, Pembleton female ward, Manor Hospital, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.
